INTERIM HR DIRECTOR ASSIGNMENT AT SUNU GROUP

The context

The rapidly expanding SUNU Group faced a major challenge following the resignation of its Group HR Director. Human resources management within the group was disorganized, leading to an understaffed HR team and difficulties in recruitment and talent development. Actiss Africa was appointed as Interim HR Director to structure and revitalize the HR function of SUNU and its subsidiaries, while ensuring the harmonization of HR practices across the group.

The mission

Actiss Africa was tasked with structuring the HR function of the SUNU Group, specifically:

1. Structuring the HR function of SUNU SERVICES: reviewing the HR organization, supporting recruitment, and facilitating the recruitment and integration of a Group HR Director.

2. Supporting subsidiaries: assisting SUNU DIGITECH, SIH, and BICIS in implementing their HR processes, including recruitment, the implementation of an HRIS, and the integration of BICIS (recently acquired).

3. Harmonizing the Group’s HR practices: implementing a common HR strategy aligned with the Group’s objectives and optimizing talent development.

Results

• Strengthening the HR organization:
o A recruitment plan was implemented, and a senior HR professional was recruited to strengthen the team.
o The administrative assistant position was transformed into an HR Business Partner for SUNU Services to support the new Group HR Director. This made the organization more efficient and aligned with the group’s needs.

• Significant progress in recruitment:
o 75 recruitment processes were initiated, 33 were completed during the period, and key positions were filled following process optimization.

o Increased involvement of functional managers in recruitment enabled the filling of strategic positions, particularly at SUNU DIGITECH.

• Implementation of the HRIS and harmonization of HR practices:
o We initiated and actively participated in the implementation of an HRIS, with efforts to integrate HR tools across all subsidiaries.

• The integration of BICIS was supported by the harmonization of HR policies and change management to facilitate team adaptation.

• Talent development improvements:

• An internal training program was implemented, with a particular focus on leadership and managerial skills.

• The corporate culture, represented by the SUNUATTITUDE values, was integrated into internal processes to strengthen employee engagement.

In summary, Actiss Africa enabled SUNU to reorganize its HR function, improve the recruitment process, structure talent management, and support HR transformation initiatives within the group, thus contributing to its growth and the optimization of human resources. The new HR Director was recruited with our support and officially took office on November 1, 2023.
